Classic Series

A Taiwanese oolong inspired by the natural sweetness of the lychee fruit, for lovers of light, fruity-floral oolongs with a rich aroma and a soft taste. It grows at an altitude of 2,500 meters and above in the Lishan tea region (梨山, Li Shan) in the central-northern part of Taiwan.Due to the steepness of the slopes, the tea grown here receives less sunlight, which allows the leaves to become rich in pectin.

Characteristics:

• Aroma: clean floral aroma with notes of fresh fruit.

• Liquor color: transparent, golden-yellow.

• Taste: bright lychee fruit flavor with a light tropical tartness.

• Aftertaste: long-lasting, bright, fruity-honey.

Processing Features:

• Light fermentation (15−20%) — preserves freshness.

• Roasting level: minimal roast.

The tea leaves possess a clean floral aroma and the aroma of green apple, while the infusion has a smooth, silky texture that complements its bright, refreshing taste.

Each year only a small amount of these leaves is produced, making them even more valuable.

About the Lishan Tea Region:

The tea region Lishan (梨山, Li Shan) is one of Taiwan’s most prestigious high-mountain tea regions, located in the central part of the island, on the border of Taichung and Hualien Counties. “Pear Mountain” — as its name translates, fruit was once grown here, but today it is a kingdom of elite high-mountain oolong.

• Altitude: 1,600−2,600 meters above sea level (the main plantations are at 1,800−2,200 m).

• Average temperature: 5−10 °C lower than in the valleys (around 20 °C in summer, with possible frosts in winter)..

• Mist and humidity: dense mists 200+ days a year protect the tea from direct sunlight, slow the growth of the leaves, and intensify the accumulation of aromatic compounds.

• Soil: rich in minerals, with good drainage.

Why is this important?

The cold climate and temperature fluctuations make the tea leaf denser and richer, while slow growth intensifies the floral and fruity notes in the finished tea.
